Welcome to my latest edition of “What I’m Loving Lately!” Here at the LL, we are wrapping up Christmas and tying it with a bow! Shopping is complete (check), wrapping is done (check), White Christmas viewed (check) and egg nog recipe mastered (check, check and check)!
Now it’s time to enjoy some time off from work and take advantage of some good multimedia while vegging!
So, here are some great ideas below to do just that wherever you are!!!
Books
Finding Chika is a true story about a little girl that touched so many! Precious book, quick read and Kleenex-worthy. Plus, proceeds go to Haitian orphanage.
This is an older book I’ve had for awhile but just getting to it. The Book Thief is a fictional story based in Germany during WWII. The main character is a little girl separated from her family to a foster family due to her Communist roots. It’s the story of her struggles and her relentless determination. Great read! Can’t wait to watch the movie and read Markus Zusak’s latest.
Dirty Letters is a steamy romance for you to escape to during your stressful holidays. This story is told bouncing between both characters, who started their relationship as childhood pen pals an ocean apart. Somehow they continued their relationship through adolescence and young adulthood. When they lost touch as adults, they finally reconnect and pick up right where they left off, leading them down a path of more than just friends.
Movies
Holiday In The Wild is a “romance off the beaten path” like it says under the title. Cute movie that stars Rob Lowe and Kristin Davis in a journey of healing of many kinds (including irresistible baby elephants). Great flick for the whole family!
The Christmas Chronicles is a cute holiday film for kids, young and old. Starring Kurt Russell as Santa himself, the film features Santa and a family struggling with a loss to healing through a fun reindeer ride, literally!
6 Underground is an action-packed film, starring Ryan Reynolds. He stars as a millionaire that wants to make the world a better place through his heroics and team’s efforts.
T.V.
Rourke and I can’t get enough of the new show, Bless This Mess. A sitcom based on a couple from the city taking a stab at farmlife. It is laugh-out-loud funny!
