Faux Croc Tray DIY

If you missed my post about trays for organization in every room, you can check it out here.

I have been recently sprucing up Erin’s bedroom, noticing that his room is one of the only rooms not having a tray.  His room is blue with orange accents.  When shopping, I keep stumbling upon the leather croc trays but at exorbitant prices.

I was determined to make my own.

I ordered the orange croc paper from here.  This paper comes in several other colors and is very thick and durable.  I was very pleased.

I then found a wood tray to work with here.

Using Mod Podge, some scissors, a pencil and a ruler, I went to working.IMG_5948.JPGIMG_5950.JPGIMG_5956.JPG

I measured out each of the sides and then penciled the sizes onto the paper.  I carefully cut them.  Then I painted Mod Podge onto the wood and attached each piece.  I painted a layer of Mod Podge on top of each to protect the  tray.  Mod Podge is very forgiving, leaving a clear, glossy finish when dried. It also comes in different finishes, like matte, antique and even GLITTER!IMG_5958.JPGIMG_5960.JPGIMG_6000.JPG
